New Hampshire Sylvania 300 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Early in practice nearly everyone started in race trim. 

Clint Bowyer – Was in qualifying trim the entire session. Matt Crafton is a standby driver because his wife is due to have a baby very soon. In qualifying trim he didn’t like his handling.

Joey Logano – Has a lot of confidence because of how he ran in July. Appears to like how his car drives.

Jimmie Johnson – After his first eight lap run he said he was tight in the center and had good drive off.

Kevin Harvick – Early in practice he complained about his car being tight and his front tires chattering. His team thinks they found something in July that will make him even stronger.

Paul Menard – He reported his car was “mostly loose in and a little free after the center”.  Later in qualifying trim he said he was too free on exit. In qualifying trim he said he got tighter each lap.
