Texas 2 Early Week Pre-Practice Top 20 Fantasy Projections – AAA 500
Texas Motor Speedway is a 1.5-mile intermediate race track and the last real “cookie cutter” left on the schedule. Therefore, we will probably see many of the same faces up front here on Sunday in the AAA 500. As usual, Chase contenders get an extra bump in my rankings. The weather should be decently warm this weekend so expect the cars to be slipping around a lot. Starting position isn’t very important here at Texas; when we raced here in the spring, seven of the top 10 finishes started 12th or worse.

Jordan \ I really like M Truex jr for at least a top 20 with some upside.

I think Truex Jr could surprise people. He’s run well at Texas recently and he did have momentum (can’t really hold Dega or Martinsville too much against drivers). Menard could surprise people as well and sneak into a good finish. Almirola could also potentially get a mid-teens finish.
In today’s NASCAR there’s more competitive teams than ever before.

Agreed. Truex has upside but Menard has even more. The rest looks good, although I have Bayne around 24th.
