Drivers have two types of fantasy value every week. They have Personal Fantasy Value and Comparative Fantasy Value.

Personal Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver is at a certain track compared to the other 23 venues on the circuit.

Comparative Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver compares to the competition at a certain track.

The driver who I want to use as an example to clarify what I’m talking about is Jeff Gordon. His Personal Fantasy Value at Watkins Glen is low. He’s had a ton of problems here and a best finish of 9th since 2002 is really bad for NASCAR’s King of The Road. Watkins Glen could arguably be his worst track.

Jeff Gordon’s Comparative Fantasy Value is medium. Although it’s been a tough track for him he’s been decent here and doesn’t rank as one of the low value drivers.
