Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Texas
Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott will be a driver to watch at Texas. Hendrick Motorsports has recently owned this venue and that bodes very well for Elliott. Also it doesn’t hurt that Elliott has had success at Texas in NASCAR’s lower divisions. In 2014 at this venue he won his first career race in the Xfinity Series. In his other Texas races in the lower series he finished 4th, 8th and 8th. This year at high-speed intermediate tracks Chase Elliott has been impressive. He finished 8th at Atlanta, 6th at Auto Club and was top ten strong at Las Vegas until he was caught up in a late wreck. In the Texas Duck Commander 500 he has a great chance to come home with another top ten finish. (Draftkings $8,000)

Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney has been in two Sprint Cup races at Texas but he hasn’t gained too much track experience because his races have been so short. Last year he completed just 97 of the possible 668 laps run. Last fall Blaney finished dead last after getting into the wall hard on lap 25. That marked the end of his race. Last spring Ryan Blaney made his first start in the Lone Star State. I have no idea how good he was because he started having engine problems very early. When the race reached its conclusion he finished 42nd. This year at 1.5 mile tracks Blaney has shown potential. He finished 6th at Las Vegas and was 14th place good at Atlanta until he wrecked late. (Draftkings $6,700)
Brian Vickers – Brian Vickers has had improved performances in recent weeks which is a plus. Hopefully you’ve been using him because we don’t know how many more races he has. After Texas he doesn’t know what his future holds. I’m sure he’ll get more starts but you never know, Vickers doesn’t even know. This year at high-speed intermediate tracks Vickers has been in two races. At Auto Club Speedway he finished 13th and at Las Vegas he was teens good until he had trouble. At Texas Vickers has had success. His most recent race was in fall 2014 when he finished 16th. In his two Texas races prior to that he finished 4th and 8th. (Draftkings $6,400)
Ty Dillon – Ty Dillon will be returning to action at Texas. On Saturday night he’ll be driving the #95. This car will likely be RCR prepared. Atlanta is a 1.5 mile track like Texas and earlier this year at that venue he finished 17th. Last year at Texas in the Xfinity Series Dillon finished 5th and 12th. (Draftkings $6,300)
Brian Scott – Brian Scott has some track experience at Texas. Last fall he drove the #33 RCR prepared Chevy and ran well. The number you need to know about him is 14. He finished 14th, earned the 14th best driver rating and had a 14th place average running position. At times in that race it looked like he would come home with a top ten finish. I think the #33 car is better than the #9 so I don’t think he’ll perform quite as well. This year at 1.5 mile tracks Scott has results of 27th (Las Vegas) and 31st (Atlanta). (Draftkings $5,600)
