Richmond Toyota Owners 400 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

NOTE: Practice was only an hour long after rain ended the session early.

Tony Stewart – His main goal was to log laps. His team didn’t know he would be in the #14 until Wednesday. Started in qualifying trim. His car was loose. About 30 minutes into practice he went to race trim to log laps. In race trim his crew chief said he was running pretty decent laps. His team really worked on making him comfortable with the car. This is his first race with a new crew chief and with the digital dashboard. Ran the most laps this session.

Michael Annett – Wrecked in the first 10 minutes of practice. Was in qualifying trim at the time. His team will be going to a backup car.

Kevin Harvick – Ran his quick lap time in qualifying trim early. Only focused on qualifying trim.

Trevor Bayne – Started in qualifying trim. Wanted his car to be in the track more.

Greg Biffle – Had slight contact with the wall 15 minutes into practice. An hour into practice he wasn’t happy with his car. “Somethings really, really wrong.”
