Richmond Toyota Owners 400 NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes

Jimmie Johnson – Started the session with very good long run speed. “Entry is comfortable, consistently good in 1&2. Missing some grip in the rear.” Ran a really high lane in the turns about 20 minutes into practice. He feels that he has a good car. Chad Knaus was happy with how the #48 performed. At the end of practice he was still running good laps.

Clint Bowyer – His lap times were pretty far off from being competitive. Very frustrated with his car. Really struggled turning. “F’ing put this in the truck and go home.”
Kevin Harvick – Using last springs setup as a baseline. In that race he finished 2nd. Has a very strong car. Towards the end of practice his crew chief made some changes that he didn’t like.
Martin Truex Jr. – His car looked strong early in the session. Had the best 30 lap average speed.
