Jimmie Johnson – Sat out the opening 15 minutes because of inspection issues last week. Tested here last fall with the new tire. Fast over long runs. Best ten lap average.

Chase Elliott – Using Jimmie Johnson’s setup as a baseline. Had good speed and seemed to like his car. In the closing minutes he said, “It has a really nice, good stable feel – I’m just too tight.”

Martin Truex Jr. – Likes his balance. Very fast. Tested here last fall with the new tire.
