Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Has a fast car. He was reportedly happy with his car. Had consistent lap times and got off the corners well.

Martin Truex Jr. – Has a good car. “It’s hanging good with me, which I like.” Worked on getting his car good over long runs. Said his tire management felt good.

Carl Edwards – Has a good car. It caught the attention of Tony Stewart’s crew chief. He said, “He’s been the best so far” (30 minutes into practice).

Regan Smith – His car started smoking as soon as he left pit road bringing out an early red flag. It wasn’t a serious issue, his car was filled with to much oil.
