Austin Dillon – Got into the wall hard in turn 1. Will be going to a backup car. Focused on qualifying trim exclusively. Didn’t show good speed before he had his problem.

Carl Edwards – Focused on qualifying trim exclusively this session. Said he needs to run really well this week.

Jimmie Johnson – Was in qualifying trim the entire practice. His car improved during the session.

AJ Allmendinger – Started in race trim. His car turns good and rolls decent speed through the middle. Went to qualifying trim about 30 minutes into practice.
