Top 10 Intermediate Track Fantasy NASCAR Options For 2017
10. Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a strong performer at intermediate tracks who might get overlooked after missing half of the 2016 season. In 2015 in his last full-time season he scored the 6th most points on this track type. In the four prior seasons his points ranking was between 8th and 13th. Last year at intermediate tracks he had a good season. In the events he participated in minus Michigan #1 where he wrecked he had a 12.1 average finish and a 12.1 average running position. In 2017 look for Dale Earnhardt Jr. to have a successful season on this track type.

9. Kyle Larson – Last August when the “Lowest Down Force” rules package was used at Michigan Kyle Larson raced his way to victory lane notching his first career victory. In the first Michigan race where it was used he finished 3rd. I think it’s safe to say it will prove beneficial for him at intermediate tracks. On this track type you should look for Kyle Larson to be at his best at venues where the high-line comes into play. He’s an elite talent at running that groove and a strong case could be made he’s the best in the series at that discipline. Last year at intermediate tracks Larson scored the 15th most points and had a 16.7 average finish.

8. Matt Kenseth – Year in and year out over the course of his career Matt Kenseth has been one of the better intermediate track performers. In 2017 I see no reason why that will change. Last year on this track type he scored the 5th most points, if he didn’t have bad luck early in the season he might’ve very well ranked as the top scoring driver. In 5 of the last 6 years on this track type he’s ranked in the top 6 in terms of points accumulated. Last year on this track type minus Atlanta, Las Vegas and Auto Club where he had top five potential in all three races until trouble struck he had an 7.4 average finish (best in the series over those particular races), and had a result in the top 14 every race.
