Understanding DraftKings NASCAR scoring trends can be very helpful. Each track is different, and different compositions of teams can score big. This post gives you helpful scoring notes that can be learned from a race and tells you what type of “scorer” the top drivers were.
Here’s a breakdown of the terminology you’ll see below:
Elite Dominator – A driver who scores a very large notable amount of “Dominator” points
Super Dominator – A driver who scores a large amount of “Dominator” points.
Dominator – A driver who scores a notable amount of “Dominator” points.
Mover – A driver who moves forward a good amount of positions that really boosts their scores.
Good Finish – A driver who finishes near the front of the field.

Some overall scoring trends/ lessons learned you should take into account:
- Atlanta with the high-level of tire wear has become a skill track where a driver is a difference maker. Don\’t be afraid to pick good drivers in quality equipment who start back in the field.
2016 Atlanta Scoring Notes
- Only 4 of the top ten scorers started in the top ten.
- 6 of the top ten scorers started outside the top fifteen.
- Of the top fifteen scorers Kurt Busch was the only driver who started in the top five.
- The average starting position of the top ten scorers was 16.4.
- All of the top ten scorers finished in the top twelve.
- Half of the top ten scorers started between 16th and 26th.
- Matt DiBendetto who scored the 21st most points (21) was the top scoring \”Super Cheap Driver.\”
2015 Atlanta Scoring Notes
- The top five scoring drivers finished in the top five.
- 2 of the top four scoring drivers started on the front row.
- 3 of the top 7 scoring drivers started 36th or worse.
- Only 3 of the top 13 scoring drivers started in the top ten.
- The average starting position of the top ten scorers was 19.4.
- The top scoring driver who could be considered \”Super Cheap\” was Brett Moffitt (not currently racing) who scored the 6th most points.
