Bristol Fantasy NASCAR Confidence Ranking Picks
1) Kyle Busch (Starting – 7th)
Bristol Fantasy Spin – Kyle Busch is always a popular fantasy pick at Bristol. He runs extremely well here and performs at an elite level. He just needs to shake off some bad luck, and I think he’s due to have an incident free race. In 4 of the last 5 Bristol races he’s finished 29th or worse. I will note in all five of those races he ran well but had an asterisk mark finish. If Kyle Busch can have an incident free race then he’ll be tough to beat. In practice his car has been extremely quick. His ten lap averages between the two Saturday sessions rank as the 1st and 4th best.
Bristol Track History – Kyle Busch runs extremely well at Bristol but he’s been an asterisk mark machine. Time after time he’s had problems that have led to poor results. Last summer he had the dominant car but had a parts failure and wrecked which led to his 38th place finish. Before he had his problem he led 256 of the 358 laps. In spring 2016 he had top five potential but he got into the wall a few times and was also spun. At the time of his last problem on lap 260 he was running in 10th. In August 2015 he had a great car that was potentially the best but he made an unexpected pit stop in that race and got a speeding penalty with 69 laps to go while running in 3rd. Even with those problems he rallied to finish 8th, earn the 2nd best driver rating, have a 4th place average running position and lead a race high 192 laps.

2) Kevin Harvick (Starting – 10th)
Bristol Fantasy Spin – Kevin Harvick will be tough to beat at Bristol. He’s the most recent winner and over an extended period of time he’s performed at an extremely high-level. Over the last four Bristol races his average PROS Rankings is an impressive 2.5, with him ranking in the top 3 every race. This weekend the low-line is the fast line and when it comes to setting up a car to run that groove the #4 team is as good as anybody. On Sunday I expect him to run extremely well and be a factor to win.
Bristol Track History – Over the last three Bristol races Kevin Harvick has the best average finish (3.3), best driver rating and the best average running position (6.3). Last summer he had a great car and raced his way to victory lane. In addition to winning Harvick earned the best driver rating and led 128 laps. In our PROS Rankings he was slated as having the 2nd best car, if Kyle Busch didn’t wreck it’s uncertain if he would’ve won. In spring 2016 he had a very strong showing. In that event he earned the 2nd best driver rating, had a 4th place average running position and finished 7th. In August 2015 he overcame two speeding penalties but rallied to finish 2nd and earn the 6th best driver rating. At the end of the race he likely had the best car. In spring 2015 he had a great car but was involved in a wreck while running in 3rd. Before he wrecked he led 184 laps.

3) Joey Logano (Starting – 5th)
Bristol Fantasy Spin – Joey Logano should be on your short list of favorites at Bristol. Over the last five Bristol races he has 2 wins and 4 top tens. His only finish outside the top ten over this stretch was when he was involved in an early wreck. This year on a weekly basis Logano has performed extremely well. In 6 of the 7 races he’s finished between 3rd and 6th. On Sunday at Thunder Valley look for Logano to run well and come home with another good finish. In Happy Hour his ten lap average ranked as the 3rd best.
Bristol Track History – Logano has performed extremely well at Bristol over the last couple of races. Over the last five events minus spring 2015 he has two wins, a 5.5 average and has led 294 laps. In 2016 Logano swept the top ten and finished 10th both races. The only other driver who finished in the top ten both races was Harvick. Last August he had a strong car. He earned the 6th best driver rating, finished 10th and led 38 laps. In 2016 he had late battery problems and a speeding penalty but finished 10th. His battery problem happened with 35 laps to go which dropped him back to 17th. In August 2015 he had a great car and outraced Kevin Harvick en route to victory lane. In the race Logano earned the best driver rating, had a 3rd place average running position and led 176 laps. In spring 2015 he was taken out in an early wreck when it started to rain. In summer 2014 Logano led 76 laps and raced his way to victory lane.
