Kyle Busch who won the pole selected the low-line. He led the opening 26 laps. He shot to a big lead coming off the first set of turns.
Notable Moment: On lap 4 the first caution came out after Matt DiBenedetto’s engine blew up.

On lap 16 Denny Hamlin said he had a little bit of “blurb” in his engine. He was in 16th at the time. It wasn’t a concern but he wanted his crew chief to know.
On lap 21 Kyle Busch had a 5 second lead over Denny Hamlin.

On lap 23 Jimmie Johnson said his car was free in traffic. He brought a new chassis to this race.
On lap 25 the first pit cycle begin. Martin Truex Jr. was the first driver to pit.
During the first round of pit stops it was said Kevin Harvick really liked his balance.
During the first pit cycle Keselowski really stretched his fuel. He led laps 27 to 41. His team was trying to make this a three pit stop race.
Notable Moment: Around lap 33 Harvick made an unexpected pit stop for a flat because he felt like he had a tire go down. This dropped him off the lead lap.

Big Moment: On lap 53 Greg Biffle slammed into the wall hard and it marked the end of his race.
Top ten off pit road following the Biffle caution: 2 (only driver who took two tires),18,11,19,78,20,48,42,1,14
- During this caution Joey Logano elected not to pit.
Following the Biffle caution restart Keselowski fell back from 2nd to 8th on the first lap.

On lap 70 race leader Kyle Busch really liked his balance. It improved throughout the race.

During green flag pit stops on lap 87 Johnson got a speeding pit penalty. He was running in 7th prior to the pit cycle. This dropped him back to the low-twenties. Denny Hamlin also got a speeding penalty around this time that dropped him to the high-teens.
