Darlington Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Erik Jones – At Darlington I would look for Erik Jones to be a low double digits driver who’ll compete for a top ten. He’s a talented rookie and I think he’s capable of coming home with a good result. Jones is a smart driver and that attribute is very important at the “Lady In Black.” Last year in the Xfinity Series he finished 6th. Heading into Darlington Jones has four straight top tens, a fifth straight wouldn’t surprise me because this team is really starting to click. (Yahoo C Driver)

Jamie McMurray – At Darlington I would look for Jamie McMurray to be a low double digits driver who’ll compete for a top ten. He’s run well here and since 2010 minus 2012 when he had problems he has a 12.0 average finish and a 12.2 average running position. Currently at Darlington he has four straight results between 14th to 16th. Last year McMurray finished 15th but I’ll note he was slightly better than his result. During a late caution with about 16 laps to go while he was running in 13th he made an extra pit stop for loose lug nuts that dropped him back to 18th at the tail end of the lead lap. Additionally from the race it should be noted he had an 11th place average running position and the 12th best driver rating. In 2015 the number you need to know about him is 14. He finished 14th, had a 14th place average running position and earned the 14th best driver rating. In 2014 he was also mid-teens good finishing 16th, having a 14th place average running position and earning the 14th best driver rating. (Yahoo B Driver)

Ryan Newman – Darlington is a skill track and Ryan Newman should be counted on for a strong finish. Since 2009 he’s only once finished lower than 13th. Over the last four races he’s finished between 8th to 13th, has a 10.3 average finish, the 13th best driver rating and a 15.0 average running position. Last year Ryan Newman was a solid performer. He finished 8th and had a 10th place average running position. In 2015 Newman didn’t have a great showing but finished 13th. Also in that race he earned the 17th best driver rating and had an 18th place average running position. His race wasn’t completely incident free. On lap 47 he spun and brought out the caution. I will note he didn’t get any noticeable damage. In 2014 Newman had a solid showing. He finished 10th, had a 10th place average running position and earned the 8th best driver rating. In 2013 Newman also finished 10th. Heading into Darlington Newman has back to back top tens. (Yahoo B Driver)
