Darrell Wallace drove the #43 (Aric Almirola was out because of injury)

Daytona Race Notes
Dale Earnhardt Jr. started on the pole with Chase Elliott on the front row. Earnhardt Jr. jumped to an early lead, but Chase Elliott led the first four laps.
On lap 5 Brad Keselowski took the lead from Chase Elliott. He took control of the field and then led the next 24 laps.
On lap 10 the first caution came out when Ryan Sieg’s car was leaking fluid. This marked the end of his race.
Notable Moment: As soon as the race went back to green following the first caution, Denny Hamlin was on pit road because he was missing lug nuts on a wheel.

On lap 15, DJ Kennington’s engine blew up. This was a big break for Denny Hamlin.
During the DJ Kennington caution many front runners didn’t pit, Logano was the first of them to come to pit road.

Late in Stage #1, Denny Hamlin and Erik Jones pitted under green. This would allow them to stay out during the Stage competition caution.
Stage #1 Top Ten Finishers (Lap 40): 2,88,21,14,22,95,1,41,20,38
During the Stage caution on pit road, Ryan Blaney didn’t pit so he could avoid contact with Joey Logano. He still hit Logano and got some damage, but the #22 was fine. The next time by Ryan Blaney pitted which cost him all of his track position.
During the Stage caution, Kurt Busch pitted twice to make sure he had all of his lug nuts on good.
On lap 48 a wreck almost happened and Daniel Suarez and Michael McDowell ducked down pit road.

On lap 52 Dale Earnhardt Jr. got up into the wall pretty hard. At this time Kyle Larson was also on pit road. He had contact with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his team just wanted to look at the damage.
On lap 58 the caution came out when Jeffrey Earnhardt’s car started to smoke. He took his car to the garage and it marked the end of his race.

Big Moment: On lap 70 a “Big One” ensued. Drivers collected were Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr., Austin Dillon, Joey Logano, Kurt Busch, Paul Menard, Jamie McMurray and Michael McDowell.
- The wreck marked the end of the race for Logano, Austin Dillon and Truex.
