Watkins Glen Early Week Pre-Practice Top 20 Fantasy Projections

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series stops at its second of three road course tracks on the season, as Watkins Glen will be the host of the Go Bowling at The Glen on Sunday afternoon. The last time we were at a road course was Watkins Glen, and we saw Martin Truex, Jr. battle it out with Kevin Harvick all day with the #78 Toyota ending up in victory lane thanks (in part) to some trickery during pit stops. Between Watkins Glen and Sonoma, the latter is the more technical course, while The Glen is the speedier road course. In other words, drivers don’t have to take care of their equipment as much here as they do in Sonoma, which is why guys like A.J. Allmendinger typically perform much better here than out west. In this race last season, it was Martin Truex, Jr. getting the win with a somewhat surprising Matt Kenseth almost stealing it at the end.

Ryan/Jordan – have been a follower/subscriber for several years & appreciate the in depth insight. > Please clarify how/ why the Pre-Practice T-20 compared to the rankings for Top tier Elite/ Front Runners/ Mid pack / Low Tier don’t seem to correspond? Is it b/c the 2 lists have separate experts/ authors ?, or …. ? Many thanks again for your early in the week new postings and all else you do.
(Barely over yahoo 10K last several years – but struggling this season for some reason)

Hi Al,
Essentially top 20 is Jordan’s and the other posts are mine. Two different perspectives.
