Bristol Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Ty Dillon – Ty Dillon hasn’t been that bad of a performer at Bristol. At “Thunder Valley.” over his four incident free races he has a 17.0 average finish and a 19.3 average running position. Earlier this year, Ty Dillon had a respectable showing. He finished 15th, had a 13th place average running position and even won Stage #1 with the help of pit strategy. Last summer, Dillon finished 21st and had a 24th place average running position. In spring 2018 he didn’t run well and finished 25 laps down in 28th. If anything I would say attrition helped him. On lap 77 while he was running in 30th he was off pace and went to pit road which dropped him 3 laps down. In summer 2017 he had a tough race and finished 36th after getting into the wall hard on lap 353. It should be noted he was really uncompetitive and wasn’t even mid-twenties good. In spring 2017 he finished 15th which tied his best result from this spring.

David Ragan – David Ragan has been a pretty solid performer at Bristol, given his tier. Over the last six races at “Thunder Valley” he has an 18.5 average finish, a 22.5 average running position and has finished in the top 23 every race. Earlier this year at Bristol he started 22nd and finished 21st. I’ll note he was likely better than his result because his race wasn’t incident free. Around lap 350 while he was running in 15th he got into the wall hard and made an unexpected pit stop. Last summer, among drivers of his tier he ranked as one of the best. He finished 17th and had a 20th place average running position. In spring 2018 he tied his best Bristol result since 2009 and finished 12th. In August 2017 he finished 17th. In the two races prior to that he had results of 21st and 23rd. At Bristol, I would look for Ragan to be a high-teens to low-twenties driver.
Bubba Wallace – Bristol has been one of the better track for Bubba Wallace and in his two incident free races his average finish is 18th. Earlier this year at Bristol, Wallace didn’t have a bad race by his standards. When the race reached its conclusion he finished 20th and had a 21st place average running position. Last summer at Bristol he had a tough race. He completed 3 laps and then was involved in a big multi-car wreck. Since it happened so early you really can’t read into his 38th place result. In spring 2018 he had a pretty good debut. He finished 16th, had a 13th place average running position and legitimately led 6 laps. At Bristol I’m going to view him as a high-teens to low-twenties driver.
