Darlington NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes

Aric Almirola – Ten minutes into practice while he was 5th he got into the wall hard. He’ll be going to a backup car and will start in the rear of the field. He’ll be scored from his qualifying position. Almirola wasn’t able to run any laps in his backup car.

Kyle Larson – He had a left front flat 25 minutes into practice. He was on lap 23 over a run. His tire issue resulted from minor contact with the wall. At the time he had his flat tire he currently had the best 10 lap average. In a speed chart where he was compared to Truex Jr. and Hamlin his long run speed looked really good.

Kurt Busch – Said his car was decent and he liked it in practice #1. This session he’s really going to focus on long runs. His car appeared to be pretty good and he ended the session 4th.

Alex Bowman – 10 minutes into practice while he was 12th he said, “Took off pretty good. I’m free up by the wall in 3 and 4. Just don’t have anything to lean on.” 35 minutes into practice while he was 16th he said, “That was a way better compromise than we have had. It’s not bad.”

Joey Logano – Had really good speed over his opening run. Ran the most laps (61)
