Las Vegas 2 Early Week Top 20 Fantasy Projections

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series kicks off this weekend with a Sunday NIGHT race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The South Point 400 will be the second time we hit Sin City this season, and if you remember back to the March race here, Penske Racing finished 1-2 with Joey Logano ending up in victory lane after leading 86 of the 267 laps. Pole sitter Kevin Harvick led a race-high 88 laps in that race and ended up finishing 4th, being the meat in the Busch Brothers sandwich, as Kyle ended up 3rd and Kurt ended up 5th. Of course, a lot has changed in the last six months, but it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see those same drivers inside the top 5 here on Sunday, either.

Chase driver Ryan Newman outside the top 20? In the last 10 races at this track he has finished in the top 13, seven times and top 5 three times. Take away his DNF and he’s 7/12 in the top 10. Better career numbers at this track than he has had at Indy and he just finished 8th there.
I know most of his career he was in better equipment compared to the competition than he has at Roush this year, but not sure he warrants the bull pen?

Fixed! It was an oversight.

What? No Ricky Stenhouse Jr…..j/k. Thought you might have known something about Newman that I was unaware of. I’ll still probably leave him off my team…lol. Thanks for the response.
