Now that the West Coast Swing is over, the NASCAR Cup Series heads back east for three straight races at 1.5-mile tracks, starting with Atlanta on Sunday. They will then go to Homestead, then Texas, and then Bristol before the Easter break. As far as Atlanta, it’s probably the best 1.5-mile track on the schedule because it’s so old and worn out, and the tires break down and create some awesome racing action. Similar tracks to look at would be the other 1.5-milers as well as “high wear” tracks, like Fontana, which we were just at a couple weeks ago.
