Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Indy
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch is one of the premiere performers at Indy, but last year he had an engine failure on lap 88 while running in 5th which doomed him to a 37th place finish. In a post DNF interview, Busch said he felt like he had a solid 3rd to 5th place car.
Martin Truex Jr. – Last year at Indy, Martin Truex Jr. started 27th and finished 27th. That said, there are no fantasy takeaways from his afternoon. During the first caution around lap 13 he had contact on pit road and that pretty much so doomed him to his poor result.
Brad Keselowski -In 2018 at Indy, Keselowski kissed the bricks. Last year his race ended early when he crashed with 2 laps to go in Stage #1. With 5 laps to go in the first Stage he was running in 8th.
Erik Jones – Erik Jones looked like a top ten contender last year at Indy, but he had a short race and finished 39th. With 2 laps to go in the first Stage he had contact with Keselowski and totaled his car. Up to that point in the race I would estimate his average running position was around 5th.
