Road America – Betting Preview
I’m still waiting on my books to release more props, but here is what my card looks like so far.
Best Bet:
Hendrick Motorsports (to Win -110, 2units) – The odds say Larson or Elliott will win this race, as they are the top two favorites. Don’t forget about Willy B, who is also a very good road racer, and will be starting near the front. Bowman has finished T10 in every road course this year, so he has a chance to win as well.
Other Bets:
Joey Logano (Top 5 +240 2u, Top Ford +300) – Logano is the only driver to sweep the Top 5 in road courses this year. He’s also been dominant in the 750 HP package thus far. These are both easy “plus money” bets for me.
Ross Chastain (Top 10 +145, Head-to-Head over Reddick +105) – Chastain has finished in the Top 10 at the previous two road courses. He has been hot lately, and just this week he lost his Cup ride for next year. He will be out to prove himself today. Additionally, Ross and Reddick both crashed out of Daytona RC, but Ross has gotten the better of him the last two road courses. Another “plus odds” bet for what seems to be a coin flip. That’s a winning formula over time.
AJ Allmendinger (Head-to-Head over Hamlin +115) – The “Dinger” is favored over Hamlin to win the race, to finish T3, and T5, but is somehow the underdog H2H. I think the oddsmakers have this one wrong.
Kyle Busch (Top Toyota +190) – Kyle has been very fast on road courses. He won the Busch Clash (with a bit of luck) and was running well in the Daytona RC race before being wrecked out late in the race. The last two road courses, he has finished as the Top Toyota and I think he gets it done again today.
Alex Bowman (Top 10 +105) – Alex finished 10th at Daytona RC, 8th at COTA, and 9th at Sonoma to sweep the T10 on road courses this year. “Plus odds” for him to do it again? I’ll gladly take that, thank you very much.
