Notable: During pace laps, Ryan Blaney came to pit road to get some minor repairs (qualifying was shortly before the race. I think he got his damage then). Blaney qualified 12th.

Aric Almirola who won the pole selected to start in the outside lane. Kyle Busch who qualified 2nd started in the inside lane. Busch led the opening 5 laps.

Notable: On the opening lap, Quin Houff got into the wall hard and lost a wheel which brought out the caution.

On lap 6 during the restart, Kyle Larson took the lead from 4th. Larson then led the next 40 laps. Larson drove away from the field running the middle groove.

Notable: On lap 39 while he was in 27th, Ryan Blaney came to pit road (planned pit stop) and he told his team he had no brakes. You’ll read more about this on lap 55.

Big: On lap 46 during green flag pit stops, Tyler Reddick spun while he was on an access road leaving pit road. It brought out the caution. He was in 12th prior to his problem.

Notables who didn’t pit prior to the caution coming out: Kurt Busch, Aric Almirola and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

The timing of the caution dropped Ryan Blaney a lap down and he was now back in 31st.
