The Low Tier – Charlotte Roval
Conor Daly – At the Charlotte Roval, Indy car driver, Conor Daly will be making his Cup debut driving The Money Team #50 Chevy. If Daly has an incident free race, I think he has mid to high-twenties potential. When Kaz Grala piloted the #50 this year, he went 3 for 3 at finishing between 23rd to 26th, and included in that was a 25th at COTA.
Josh Williams – Josh Williams will be piloting the #78 (AKA, BJ McLeod’s car) at the Charlotte Roval, so temper your expectations right fron the get go because nothing good is likely going to happen unless the attrition rate spikes. Josh Williams has raced in two Cup races this year having finished 25th at Indy RC and 25th at Bristol Dirt! On Sunday, I would view him as a high-twenties to low-thirties driver.
Cody Ware – NOT RACING
JJ Yeley – JJ Yeley will be driving the #51 in place of Cody Ware at the Charlotte Roval. Ware was injured at Texas and due to demands that come with road course racing, he’s opting to sit out this weekend. This year at Road Courses minus Indy RC which was wild, Ware went 4 for 4 at finishing between 27th to 34th. I would expect a similar level of performance from JJ Yeley. In 2020 when Yeley last raced at the Roval, he finished 35th. In the two races prior to that his results were 28th and 29th.
Mike Rockenfeller – Sports car driver, Mike Rockenfeller will be driving the Spire #77 at the Charlotte Roval, and I would look for him to finish in the 30’s. Rockenfeller has one Cup start on his resume and at Watkins Glen in August he finished 30th. I would look for him to have a similar performance on Sunday.
Daniil Kvyat – Daniil Kvyat will be returning to pilot the Team Hezeberg #26 at the Charlotte Roval and some good news about him is that he’s been consistent in Cup. Kvyat has two starts in NASCAR’s premiere series and he’s 2 for 2 at finishing 36th (Watkins Glen and Indy RC). I would expect more of the same. Between Kvyat and Hezemans, Team Hezeberg drivers are a combined 6 for 6 at finishing between 33rd to 37th.
Loris Hezemans – Loris Hezemans has piloted the Team Hezeberg #27 in four races this year and so far, he’s 4 for 4 at finishing between 33rd to 37th with a combined average finish of 35.25. If you pick him, look for him to finish around his average finish again unless the attrition rate spikes.
