Bristol Dirt Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Kyle Larson
Bristol Dirt Fantasy Spin – On Sunday night at Bristol Dirt, I think the road to victory lane goes thru Kyle Larson. Larson’s the premiere dirt track racer in NASCAR and in year #3 on the surface, I think it’s his time to shine. Larson was great last year in a car he didn’t like, and in 2021, I think he probably had the field covered but his race wasn’t incident free. On Sunday, look for Larson to finish in the top five and compete for the win.
Bristol Dirt Track History – Kyle Larson has thrived at Bristol Dirt and in both races, “Performance Wise”, Larson’s been a top five performer. Last year, Larson had a strong showing and ran well throughout the evening despite his car never being quite to his liking. In the race, Larson started 5th, won Stage #1, finished 6th in Stage #2, had a 6.6 average running position, earned the best driver rating, led 27 laps and then finished 4th when the checkered flag waved. In 2021, Larson looked phenomenal, until he crashed. In the race, Larson started in the rear of the field, but he had no trouble racing his way up thru the running order. On lap 54 while he was running the high-line and all the way up to 5th, Christopher Bell spun and then Larson nailed him which essentially ended his competitive afternoon. In the first segment of the race, Larson’s Total Speed Ranking was the 4th best, and that’s super impressive when you take into account he had to drive up thru the field in traffic. Larson was able to continue in a wounded #5, but then later to add insult to injury he further damaged his car after contact with Suarez who was lapping him. When the checkered flag waved, Larson finished 29th.
Christopher Bell
Bristol Dirt Fantasy Spin – Christopher Bell is one of the premiere dirt track racers in NASCAR and on Easter night, you better believe he’ll be a favorite. Bell was one of the best last year, and in 2021 in Bristol Dirt’s debut, Bell was poised to be a factor until his demise while running near the front. One attribute you have to like about Bell is how well the #20 is running. For the season minus the two races he’s crashed, Bell is 5 for 5 at finishing between 3rd to 6th. On Sunday night, look for Bell to be a top five contender who’ll be a factor to win.
Bristol Dirt Track History – Christopher Bell is a dirt track ace who should be high on your radar. Last year, Bell was one of the best. In the race, Bell started 2nd, finished 3rd in Stage #1, 2nd in Stage #2, had a 6.1 average running position, earned the 4th best driver rating and then finished 7th. I’ll note, Bell wasn’t at his best at the end and lost a few of positions over the closing laps. With 19 to go he was in 5th. In 2021 in the Bristol Dirt debut, Bell looked strong but finished a clunker 34th. In the race, Bell started in 15th but had no trouble advancing in the running order. Bell managed to race all the way up to 2nd, but then on lap 54 he spun and was then nailed by Kyle Larson which was a knockout blow for his afternoon. In terms of his segment #1 speed, Bell fielded the 5th fastest car on the track. If Bell’s race would’ve been incident free, it’s more than clear he was going to be tough to beat.
Tyler Reddick
Bristol Dirt Fantasy Spin – Tyler Reddick ranks among the premiere performers on dirt, and at Bristol Dirt, there’s no doubt he’ll be a driver to be reckoned with. Reddick nearly raced his way to victory lane last year and after how that conclusion played out, you better believe he’ll be racing with a little extra motivation. When it comes to racing on dirt, Reddick’s extremely accomplished on this track type and understands the nuances of the surface. The track will be going through dynamic changes throughout the race, and Reddick is one of the best at finding fast racing grooves. At Bristol Dirt, look for Reddick to be a top five contender who’ll be a factor to win.
Bristol Dirt Track History – Tyler Reddick has proven himself to be elite at Bristol Dirt. Reddick should have won last year, and he was also strong in the inaugural event. Between the combined events, Reddick has the 2nd best average finish (4.5), the 2nd best average running position (8.8) and has the 2nd best Driver Rating. Last year, Reddick had a hot rod and nearly raced his way to victory lane but Chase Briscoe’s “Failed Hail Mary” that was never going to work spun him out which led to his 2nd. In the race, Reddick led the most laps (99), had a 5.4 average running position, earned the 2nd best driver rating, was the 3rd Fastest Driver Late In A Run and had the 4th best Green Flag Speed. In terms of “Performance”, I would say Reddick was the 2nd best for the evening. In 2021, Reddick had a great performance despite starting way back in 27th. In the race, Reddick finished around 12th in Stage #1, finished 9th in Stage #2, had a 12.2 average running position and then finished 7th when the checkered flag waved. In terms of speed, Reddick was the 9th Fastest Driver Late In A Run and his Total Speed Ranking was the 11th best.
