The Low Tier – Sonoma

Andy Lally – At COTA, Andy Lally will be driving the Rick Ware Racing #15. Lally will also be driving this car over the remaining road course races in 2023, so he’ll likely get a little better down the stretch. That said, I don’t think he has anything more than mid 20’s upside, and he’ll likely finish worse than that. At Sonoma on the Cup level, Lally hasn’t competed since 2011 and that year he finished 35th.

Josh Bilicki – At Sonoma, Josh Bilicki will be driving BJ McLeod’s #78. This isn’t a competitive situation, but I think he might be able to squeak out a mid to high-twenties finish. This spring at COTA in the #78, Bilicki finished 26th. Since 2022 at road courses over the five races he’s competed, Bilicki has a 27th place average finish. I’ll note, I do think Bilicki has increased risk for an equipment related DNF.
