Christopher Bell who won the pole selected to start in the inside lane and he led the opening 36 laps. Bell led 63 of the first 67 laps (Blaney led 4 laps during a pit cycle when he ran long).
Chase Elliott was looked stout early. On lap 6, he was up 6 spots from his 18th place starting position.

During the Stage #1 caution, Denny Hamlin was the only driver who didn’t pit which got him the lead, briefly.
Big: During the Stage #1 caution, Kyle Larson made an extra pit stop to repair some damage he got in the first Stage to his nose. Larson finished Stage #1 in 10th.
Big: During the Stage #1 caution, Daniel Suarez and Michael McDowell both got penalties which dropped them to the back. They both finished in the low 20’s in the opening Stage.

Big: During green flag pit stops on lap 125, Ty Gibbs who was in 4th and Ross Chastain who was in 5th both got speeding penalties. This dropped both of them off the lead lap.
Big: Kyle Larson had a lengthy pit stop on lap 127 under green. The following lap, he came back to pit road. This was a disaster for the #5 team. This dropped Larson 2-laps down.
