Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Homestead 2024

Kyle Larson – Last fall at Homestead, Kyle Larson subjectively had the best car, but he finished an asterisk mark 13th after having multiple problems. Larson’s first issue happened on lap 47 while running in 2nd when he had a tire go down and scrubbed the wall. Larson was fast and battled back. Then late in the race on lap 254 while battling Blaney for the lead, Larson got too aggressive and spun out which led to his misleading result.

Ty Gibbs – Yes, Ty Gibb’s cold streak even extends back to last fall at Homestead, and he finished a clunker 36th. That said, Gibbs did show potential. In the race, Gibbs started 14th, finished about 17th in Stage #1, finished about 13th in Stage #2 but then early in the final Stage he no longer had 4th gear, which marked the end of his race. In the 2nd segment prior to his problem, Gibbs ranked as having the 14th fastest car on the track.

Joey Logano – Joey Logano finished an ugly 28th last year at Homestead but I wouldn’t read into that result. Logano was quite uncompetitive but that was a mailed in afternoon from the #22 team that was already locked into the season finale at Phoenix.
