Group A NASCAR Driver Practice Notes
Ryan Blaney- Ryan Blaney had great long run speed. In Group A, Blaney had the best 30-lap average. Late into a run, Blaney logged many of the “Fastest Laps.” Bowyer really liked what he seen out of Blaney in terms of long run speed. Blaney said he didn’t quite have the feel he would like during an interview. He said he has a fast car, but he needs the balance to be closer.
Christopher Bell – Christopher Bell unloaded fast and climbed up to the top of the speed chart early. On lap 17, Bell was reported to come to pit road for adjustments which hurt him for +20 lap averages. The #20 was reported to be loose.
Ty Gibbs – Ty Gibbs had pretty good speed. In Group A, Gibbs ranked #1 for 10, 15,20 and 25-lap averages.
Carson Hocevar – Carson Hocevar logged solid lap times throughout a run. In Group A his 30-lap average was the 4th best. Hocevar said he thought he wasn’t very good over a long run during an interview.
Shane van Gisbergen – SVG had the best 5-lap average in Group A. SVG never made a 15-lap run.
