Bubba Wallace who won the pole selected to start in the outside lane and he led the opening 34 laps.

Big: On lap 3, Martin Truex Jr. crashed and took out Ryan Blaney with him. They were running in 7th and 8th. Both cars were done for the day. Blaney was viewed by some to have the best long run car in practice.
