On Sunday night, get ready for the 2025 NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro. This year’s All-Star Race is 250 laps long around this historic .625-mile oval. This race will mark year two on the current surface with the track widening out but track position is still king.

On Friday, NASCAR held an extended practice session. Make sure you check out our All-Star Practice Notes and All-Star Practice Speeds and 10-Lap Averages. The Heat Races were essentially “Simulation Races”, so also take those into account when making your picks.

Here’s the North Wilkesboro Starting Lineup. Three more cars will be added to the All-Star field following the Open. The top two finishers from the Open will advance and the third spot will go to the fan vote winner.

North Wilkesboro Full Field Fantasy Rankings

1) Christopher Bell
Start 2nd / Projected Finish Range 1-6 / Dominator Potential – High
North Wilkesboro All-Star Outlook – Christopher Bell is a super-elite short track driver who should be high on your radar. The #20 was strong in practice and on rails in his Heat Race, easily racing his way to victory lane (led 69 laps). Bell wants to dominate this race, and I think he very well could. This year in short track rules package races, Bell’s tied for having the best Total Speed Ranking and his average finish between the two races is 1.5, with him winning at Phoenix and finishing 2nd at Martinsville. In last year’s All-Star Race, Bell looked like a contender but finished 17th. In the second half of the race while battling for the lead, Bell did some beating and banging and as a result he just wasn’t at his best to close out and faded. In the race, Bell had the 6th best Total Speed Ranking but take note his speed over the segments were 5th, 4th, 4th and then 18th. Additionally, Bell earned the 6th best Driver Rating and had a 7.0 average running position. In 2023, Bell didn’t have a smooth race and finished 12th.

2) Joey Logano
Start 4th / Projected Finish Range 1-6 / Dominator Potential – Medium-High
North Wilkesboro All-Star Outlook – Joey Logano, the defending All-Star Race winner will be tough to beat. Logano put on an absolute display of domination in last year’s race, leading 199 of the 200 laps, had a 1.0 average running position and earned a near perfect Driver Rating. In terms of Speed Stats, Logano had the best Total Speed Ranking, the best Green Flag Speed and then ranked 2nd for Speed Late In A Run. In 2023 on the old surface, Logano looked to be one of the best and don’t let his 10th fool you. In the race, Logano was in 4th at the time of the midpoint caution, but he then got an uncontrolled tire penalty which sent him to the back and he just wasn’t able to fully bounce back. In the race, Logano ranked 6th for Green Flag Speed, had the 7th best Total Speed Ranking and his average running position was 7.7. This year in short track rules package races, Logano has the 4th best Total Speed Ranking. In his Heat Race, Logano finished 2nd.

3) Ryan Blaney
Start 7th / Projected Finish Range 1-6 / Dominator Potential – Medium-High
North Wilkesboro All-Star Outlook – Ryan Blaney has been showing up with elite speed on a weekly basis in 2025 and in the All-Star Race, look for him to be a factor. Blaney’s one of the premiere shorter-flat track racers and going back to 2024 in short track rules package races (at ovals), Blaney’s tied for having the best Total Speed Ranking and in 5 of the last 7 races he’s ranked in the top 3 for speed. In North Wilkesboro All-Star Races, Blaney’s run well with his average finish being 5.5 between the two. Last year, Blaney started deep in the field in 17th, had a 4.0 average running position and finished 5th. In terms of speed stats, Blaney had the 2nd best Total Speed Ranking and ranked 3rd for Speed Late In A Run. In 2023, Blaney finished 6th, had an 8.2 average running position and ranked 8th for Total Speed Rankings. In his Heat Race, Blaney was strong and finished 4th.
