Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez Viva Mexico 250 Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks

William Byron
Mexico City Outlook = William Byron is an elite road course racer who’ll be a factor in Mexico City. Byron’s a 2-time road course winner (COTA and Watkins Glen) and this spring at COTA, he nearly added to that tally. At COTA, Byron finished 2nd, had the 3rd best Total Speed Ranking, earned the 3rd best Driver Rating and had the 3rd best average running position (4.9). Since 2024 at road courses minus troubled races at Sonoma and Watkins Glen, Byron has 1-win and a 3.5 average finish. In Mexico City, look for the #24 to be fast and for Byron to be a top five contender who’ll be a factor to win if he avoids trouble.
Christopher Bell
Mexico City Outlook = Christopher Bell should prominently be on your fantasy NASCAR radar at Mexico City. Bell’s a 3-time road course winner, and one of those wins came this spring at COTA, where Bell came up clutch, out racing Byron and Busch at the end to take home the trophy. In that race, Bell started 19th, led 8 laps, had a 6.7 average running position and had the 5th best Total Speed Ranking. To highlight his speed more, Bell had the fastest car on the track over the last quarter of the race. Since 2024 at road courses minus Chicago where he was one of the best but had problems late, Bell has a series best 5.6 average finish and the 2nd best Driver Rating (over that particular race stretch). In terms of Track Type Total Speed Rankings since 2024, Bell ranks 2nd.
Shane van Gisbergen
Mexico City Outlook = Shane van Gisbergen already has one big road course debut win under his belt and at Mexico City where nobody has Cup track experience advantage on him, I think SVG has a great chance to add to his tally. Since 2024 at road courses, SVG has the best Track Type Total Speed Ranking, and included in that speed analytic is him ranking 2nd at COTA this spring. Additionally this spring at COTA, SVG finished 6th, had a 3.9 average running position and led 23 laps. At road courses on the Cup level minus COTA 2024 where he had transmission issues and Chicago 2024 where he crashed, SVG has 1-win, a 4.0 average finish, a 5.5 average running position and he’s had a result in the top 7 every race.
