Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Pocono (2024)
Ty Gibbs – Ty Gibbs was top ten good last year at Pocono but multiple problems derailed his afternoon, leading to his 27th. In the race, Gibbs started on the pole, led 21 laps, was in 7th on lap 110 but then a few laps later during a caution, Gibbs was caught speeding on pit road which dropped him to the back. Then later in the race on lap 131, his engine blew up. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Gibbs ranked 6th.
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson finished 13th last summer at Pocono but you can get out an asterisk mark for that result. “Performance Wise”, you could argue Larson looked to be a top 5 performer. In the race, Larson finished 6th in Stage #2 but then early in the last Stage while running in the top 5, Larson got a speeding penalty and he just wasn’t able to fully bounce back.
Chase Elliott – Last year, Chase Elliott finished 9th but you can get out an asterisk mark for that result since his race wasn’t incident free. In the race, Elliott started 11th, finished 5th in Stage #1, finished 2nd in Stage #2 but then early in the last Stage while running around 8th, Elliott got a speeding penalty which dropped him to the back.
