Pocono Group 1 Practice Notes

Brad Keselowski – Brad Keselowski had the best overall speed in Group 1. Keselowski also had the best 5-lap average in the Group. His fastest lap was lap #9, so take note tires aren’t wearing out a lot.

Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson had good speed. Before the early Cody Ware caution came out, Larson had the best 5-lap average in his Group (ended up being the 2nd best). Larson said his car felt like it had “natural speed” for the Group he was in.

Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin has really good speed this weekend. His 5-lap average before the early caution ranked as the 2nd best. Hamlin ran a lot of laps so he should have a good feel for his car. Hamlin said his team missed the balance a slightly in practice. In Group 1, Hamlin had the 3rd best 10-lap average and the best 15-lap average (1 of 2).

Joey Logano – Joey Logano was working to get better in the corners. Before the early Cody Ware caution, his 5-lap average was the 5th best. When Group 1 practice ended, Logano had the 4th best 5-lap average and the 4th best-10-lap average.

Josh Berry – Josh Berry broke his diffuser and as a result he never made a qualifying lap. Berry will start in the rear of the field on Sunday. Berry only had 1-lap of practice.
