Iowa Group 1 NASCAR Driver Practice Notes

Kyle Busch – 18 minutes into Group 1 practice, Kyle Busch crashed into the wall. Busch said his tires were chattering. In terms of overall speed in Group 1, Kyle Busch ranked 2nd at the time. Busch will be going to a backup car and will start in the rear of the field. Busch never made a 10-lap run.

Tyler Reddick – Tyler Reddick was shown to have a really loose moment early in practice in a turn. Burton thought Reddick’s car wasn’t driving the way he wanted. Reddick was mentioned to have good fire off speed but was inconsistent. In terms of 15-lap averages, Reddick ranked 3rd in Group 1.

Ross Chastain – Ross Chastain had good speed and had the best 15,20,25 and 30-lap averages in Group 1. Chastain was mentioned to look comfortable over a run. Chastain said his car was loose but fast.

Joey Logano – Joey Logano was notably slow in practice. In Group 1, Logano had the worst 10 and 15-lap averages.

AJ Allmendinger – Allmendinger showed up with good speed. In Group 1, Allmendinger had the 3rd best 10-lap average.
