Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Bristol #1 2025

Alex Bowman – Alex Bowman ranked among the best this spring at Bristol but he finished an asterisk mark 37th. In the race, Bowman won the pole, led the opening 39 laps, finished 4th in Stage #1, finished 2nd in Stage #2 but then in the last Stage on lap 294 while running in 3rd, he radioed his team, “Blowing Up” and from that point on, you could stick a fork in him. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Bowman ranked 12th but take note his speed over the segments he competed were 4th, 2nd and then 38th.
Carson Hocevar – Carson Hocevar finished 11th this spring but that’s actually an asterisk mark result and “Performance Wise”, he was a top five contender. In the race, Hocevar finished 5th in Stage #1, finished 4th in Stage #2, had a 6.8 average running position, was running in 3rd on lap 393 but then that lap during his final green flag pit stop, the #77 team had major trouble which dropped him off the lead lap. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Hocevar ranked 3rd.
Tyler Reddick – Tyler Reddick finished 18th this spring but that’s a misleading result. Reddick didn’t have any problems in the race, but he did roll the dice in terms of pit strategy when he ran long in the final Stage hoping to catch a lucky break caution. In the race, Reddick started 27th, finished about 15th in Stage #1, finished 10th in Stage #2, had a 13.2 average running position and ranked 16th in terms of Total Speed Rankings. Over the segments, Reddick had speed rankings of 12th, 11th, 13th and then 28th.
Shane van Gisbergen – Shane van Gisbergen was extremely uncompetitive this spring at Bristol and his race wasn’t incident free. In the race, SVG started 36th, finished about 37th in Stage #1, was running in 36th on lap 175 but then on lap 178, he had contact with Cody Ware and got into the wall which sent the #88 to the garage for repairs, dooming him to a 38th.
