Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – New Hampshire (2024)
Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin had a great car last summer at New Hampshire and his 24th place finish is an asterisk mark result. “Performance Wise”, Hamlin might’ve just been the best, but he struggled in the wet conditions and faded back over the last third of the race. In the race, Hamlin finished 7th in Stage #1, won Stage #2 and led 43 laps. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Hamlin ranked 6th but take note his speed over the segments were 7th, 3rd, 1st and then 19th.
Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney was a contender to win last summer at New Hampshire but he finished an asterisk mark 25th. In the race, Blaney finished 4th in Stage #1, finished 5th in Stage #2, had the 2nd best average running position (5.9) but then late in the race on lap 291 during a restart while running in 2nd, McDowell got into him and spun out the #12, leading to his misleading result. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Blaney ranked 2nd.
Joey Logano – Joey Logano was a top five performer last summer at New Hampshire but he finished a misleading 32nd. In the race, Logano finished 2nd in Stage #1, finished 3rd in Stage #2 but then during the restart for the final Stage after pit strategy dropped him back to 11th, he had contact with Elliott and crashed. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Logano ranked 9th but take note his speed over the segments were 2nd, 4th, 3rd and then 33rd.
Alex Bowman – Alex Bowman was a top ten contender last year but he finished an asterisk mark 36th after having an engine failure. In the race, Bowman started 5th, finished 10th in Stage #1, was running in 9th on lap 120 but then during a caution around lap 140, the #48 was smoking and Bowman was pushed to the garage which marked the end of his race. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Bowman ranked 10th.
