Shane van Gisbergen who started on the pole led the opening 21 laps.

Kyle Larson drove aggressively at the start and was up to 2nd by lap 4, after starting 6th.

Denny Hamlin was noted to have lost 6 spots by lap 3.

Big: On lap 4, Corey LaJoie had an engine failure which marked the end of his race.

Notable: On lap 4, Alex Bowman was shown to have hard contact with the wall. He said his steering wheel was fine.

Notable: On lap 13, Bubba Wallace was given a short cutting the track penalty. He was running in the top ten just prior to that and it dropped from 8th to 12th.

Notable: On lap 31, Austin Dillon spun, and it brought Tyler Reddick who was back around the mid 20’s after just winning Stage #1 to a stop. Reddick collided with Hamlin while trying to avoid the #3. Reddick then came to pit road, and his toe link was bent.

Big: On lap 35, Chase Briscoe had a flat tire that was smoking. The carcas of his tire came off just as he was coming to pit road which brought out the caution. Briscoe was running around 19th just prior to his problem.

Mixed pit strategy took place during the Briscoe caution. The #45 team took time to fix Reddick’s toe link at this time.

Big: On lap 39 during the restart lap, Brad Keselowski who was in 4th earlier that lap was spun. It was also a major hinderance to Haley and it brought him to an extended stop.

Notable: On lap 40, Austin Dillon got a stop and go penalty for shot cutting the track.

Notable: On lap 41, Chase Briscoe was back on pit road since something wasn’t right with his car. Briscoe’s race was over.

Notable: On lap 41, Ross Chastain was shown to have spun out.
