Chase Briscoe – Last year at the Charlotte Roval, Briscoe had a rough afternoon and finished 36th. Briscoe didn’t run well but his afternoon also wasn’t incident free. In the race, Briscoe started 25th, finished in the mid 20’s in Stage #1 but then early in Stage #2 on lap 35 while running around 19th, he had a flat tire which also brought out a caution. I think that did a number to his car somehow because shortly after that on lap 41, he was back on pit road and said something wasn’t right with his car and his race was then over, leading to his 36th.

Tyler Reddick – Last year, Tyler Reddick had an eventful race. In the race, Reddick started 2nd, won Stage #1 going for the points, but then early in Stage #2 while he was back in traffic, Austin Dillon spun out which brought Reddick to a stop, but he also collided with Hamlin in the process which supposedly broke the toe link of the #45. That put Reddick behind for much of the afternoon, but it also makes his 11th rebound notable.

Shane van Gisbergen – Shane van Gisbergen finished 7th last year at the Charlotte Roval but I would argue that slightly underrates him. Early in the last Stage, SVG was spun and then had to drive hard to rebound.

Chris Buescher – Last year, Chris Buescher was likely a top ten contender but finished an asterisk mark 17th. In the race, Buescher started 29th, was up to 13th on lap 59 but then on lap 62 he got spun out which dropped him all the way back into the low 30’s. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Buescher ranked 20th.
