Group 1 NASCAR Driver Practice Notes
Ross Chastain – Chastain had the best overall lap in Group 1. In Group 1, Chastain ranked #1 for 15,20 and 25-lap averages. Chastain logged a lot of the fastest laps in Group 1 over the course of a run. Chastain was shown to have gotten into the wall late in practice.
Carson Hocevar – Carson Hocevar was fast and in Group 1, Hocevar was tied with Chastain for the best 10-lap average and he ranked 2nd in terms of 15 and 20-lap averages. Hocevar said his car drove similar to what it did in the spring (top five contender, had problems).
Zane Smith – Smith had solid pace and in Group 1 his ten-lap average was the 4th best.
Noah Gragson – Noah Gragson seems to have solid pace this weekend. In Group 1 he had the best 30-lap average (4 drivers) and in terms of 10-lap averages he ranked 9th.
Austin Cindric – The #2 team is working with the #22 team this weekend in terms of having a similar setup. Cindric felt like his team could make the #2 car better. In Group 1 his ten-lap average ranked as the 8th best.
