Joey Logano who started in 2nd led the opening lap.

On lap 2, William Byron got the lead, and he then led 82 of the next 86 laps.

Notable: On lap 4, Katherine Legge spun out which brought out the caution.

During the Legge caution, Bowman and Briscoe both came to pit road. They were both already deep in the field due to their 30’s starting position.

Notable: On lap 10 during the restart lap, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was spun which brought out the caution. Custer spun at this time too and neither appeared to really get damage.

Big: During the restart following the Stenhouse/Custer caution, Joey Logano who was the leader was penalized for going below the yellow line during the restart before the start/finish line. Logano then had to do a pass thru penalty, but he remained on the lead lap.

Notable: During the Stage #1 caution, Ross Chastain who was running around the mid-teens was penalized for speeding on pit road. Chastain then opted to put on the faster option tires. Austin Cindric, Justin Haley, Michael McDowell and Cole Custer were mentioned to be on option tires to begin Stage #2 also.

Big: On lap 91, Michael McDowell got into the wall hard which brought out a caution. He was running in the top ten at the time on the option tire.

Notable: During the McDowell caution, both Erik Jones and John H Nemechek were caught speeding on pit road. They were both back in the 20’s at the time.

Notable: Josh Berry had problems during his pit stop and had to backup to tighten a lugnut. He was running just outside the top ten prior to the caution.

Big: On lap 99 during a restart lap, a “Big One” ensued mid-pack. Drivers who were involved were the 6,77,35,7,19,41,88,3. This crashed marked the end of the race for the Herbst, Hocevar, Briscoe, Haley, Keselowski, Custer and van Gisbergen.

Joey Logano went to the option tire after the “Big One” and then later drove to the front.
