Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Phoenix #1 2025

Chase Briscoe – This spring at Phoenix early in his #19 JGR days, Chase Briscoe finished 35th which you can quickly disregard since he crashed. In the race, Briscoe started 30th, finished 20th in Stage #1 (Lap 60), was in 16th on lap 96 but then on lap 99 he was caught up in a multi-car wreck.
Ryan Blaney – This spring at Phoenix, Ryan Blaney was a top five contender but finished an asterisk mark 28th due to a failing engine. In the race, Blaney started 12th, finished 5th in Stage #1, finished 4th in Stage #2 but then early in the last Stage he started to develop engine issues and then on lap 289 while running in 8th, it blew up. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Blaney ranked 3rd.
Tyler Reddick – Tyler Reddick finished 20th this spring but that’s a misleading result. “Performance Wise”, Reddick was a top five contender, but his race wasn’t incident free. In the race, Reddick started 9th, finished 2nd in Stage #1, finished 5th in Stage #2, radioed his team on lap 226 while running in 2nd that he lost power steering, was running in 3rd on lap 262 but then pitted and was burned by a caution during the pit cycle which dropped him back to the high-teens. Additionally in the race, Reddick had the 3rd best average running position (6.0) and ranked 8th in terms of Total Speed Rankings.
Joey Logano – Joey Logano finished 13th this spring but you can get out an asterisk mark for that result since his race wasn’t incident free. Logano had an eventful afternoon but “Performance Wise”, I think he was a top five contender. In the race, Logano started on the pole, was the leader under caution on lap 11 but then during the ensuing restart while leading, NASCAR black flagged him. That put Logano behind, but the option tires created an opportunity for him to rebound with out of sync tire strategy which allowed him to lead 81 laps. At the end unfortunately, Logano wasn’t on option tires and others were, so that led to his 13th. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Logano ranked 6th with his speed over the segments being 7th, 3rd, 5th and then 16th.
