Group 2 Practice Notes

Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney had the best overall lap speed in Group 2. In practice, Blaney had the best 5 and 10-lap averages between both groups. Blaney was also fast over a run and had the fastest overall lap #10 in practice. During an interview, Blaney said his car was solid, had good fire off speed and then hung on over a run.

Shane van Gisbergen – In practice, SVG ranked 3rd for 5 and 10-lap averages between both groups. The #97 car is fast this weekend. Tyler Reddick believes the increased horsepower will benefit SVG.

Tyler Reddick – The #45 looked good in practice. Toyota’s in general were said to be lacking short run speed. Reddick was said to be fast late into a run. Reddick said his car was pretty solid. He said his long run speed feels close. In Group 2 his 10-lap average ranked 7th.

Chase Elliott – Elliott had the 6th best 5-lap average between both groups. His 10-lap average ranked as the 4th fastest between both groups. Elliott was said to have more fall off than Blaney and Chastain.

Ross Chastain – Ross Chastain had really good speed and his 10-lap average ranked as the 2nd fastest between both groups. The #1 was said to maintain good speed over a run.
