Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Phoenix #2 2025

Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin finished 6th last fall at Phoenix but that’s an asterisk mark result. “Performance Wise”, Hamlin was the class of the field but Byron’s late tire failure while leading with just a few laps to go while having a 3-second lead cost him certain victory. In the race, Hamlin had the best Total Speed Ranking, led the most laps (208), had the best average running position and earned the best Driver Rating.
William Byron – William Byron had the 2nd best car last fall at Phoenix but he finished a misleading 33rd. Late in the race on lap 308 while running in 2nd, Byron had a sudden flat tire and slammed into the wall hard. In the race, Byron was tied for the 2nd best Total Speed Ranking, had the 2nd best average running position (3.4) and led the 2nd most laps (52).
Chase Briscoe – Chase Briscoe had a top five car last fall at Phoenix but two flat tires and then pitting during the green-white-checker at the end while running in 6th led to his 18th (dropped him back to 15th to begin overtime). In terms of speed stats, Briscoe was tied for the 4th best Total Speed Ranking and ranked 8th for Speed Late In A Run.
Tyler Reddick – Tyler Reddick finished 26th last fall but that’s an asterisk mark result. On lap 308 before the late GWC came out, Reddick was in 11th but then he pitted and was in 18th to begin overtime. Additionally, Reddick ranked 13th in terms of Total Speed Rankings, had a 14.5 average running position and earned the 16th best Driver Rating.
Carson Hocevar – Carson Hocevar was a top ten contender last fall at Phoenix but he finished a misleading 28th. In the race, Hocevar finished 6th in Stage #1, finished 9th in Stage #2 but then in the last Stage on lap 220 while running in 8th, he had a flat tire. Additionally, Hocevar had a 12.2 average running position and ranked 14th in terms of Total Speed Rankings. To break down his speed more, Hocevar ranked 6th, 5th, 12th and then 32nd over the segments.
