Ryan Blaney who started on the pole led the opening 18 laps.
On lap 4, Denny Hamlin was back 8 positions from where he started the race. 22nd to 30th. He was said to be using a new driving style this weekend.

Big: On lap 6, Kyle Larson spun out and said he had no brakes. Larson was running in 24th at the time. Larson then went to the garage.

On lap 16, some pit strategy started to ensue with drivers pitting before the end of the Stage.
During his pit green flag pit stop on lap 18, Kyle Busch who was running in 6th overshot his pit box which led to a slow pit stop.

On lap 25, SVG passed Buescher for the lead. He then led the next 12 laps.
Notable: On lap 28, Josh Berry who was in 23rd spun. This eventually brought out a caution for debris. This dropped Berry off the lead lap.
On lap 29, Chase Elliott came to pit road since he was falling back in the running order. The caution came out while he was on pit road.
