Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Watkins Glen 2025

Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson finished 39th last year at Watkins Glen but for fantasy purposes, I would avoid all takeaways. In the race, Larson started 26th but then on lap 6 while running in 24th, Larson had no brakes, spun out and then went to the garage.

Kyle Busch – Last year at Watkins Glen, Kyle Busch actually looked pretty good but self-destructed and finished an asterisk mark 22nd. In the race, Busch started 5th, was running in 6th on lap 18 but then overshot his pit box. Later, Busch spun after having contact with Hamlin around lap 45 while running around 10th and then he just didn’t bounce back from that. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Busch ranked 11th but take note his speed over the segments were 4th, 9th, 11th and then 35th.

Ty Gibbs – Last year, Ty Gibbs finished 33rd but you can get out an asterisk mark for that. In the race, Gibbs had a 19.3 average running position but ranked 8th for Total Speed Rankings. Gibbs looked solid for a good portion of the race and even ran laps near the top five but I’m going to chalk up his poor finish to him not being at his best when it counted and then making a late pit strategy gamble hoping to catch a lucky break caution that didn’t materialize. To further look at his speed over the segments, Gibbs had speed rankings of 5th, 8th, 21st and then 16th.

Brad Keselowski – Last year, Brad Keselowski looked respectable and was primed for a teen’s finish but he finished an asterisk mark 31st. In the race, Keselowski had a 15.2 average running position, led 5-laps via pit strategy, was running in 14th with 6 laps to go but then he had a flat tire and made an unexpected pit stop, leading to his poor result.
