Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Pocono 2025

Brad Keselowski – Brad Keselowski had a rocket last summer at Pocono and ranked among the best, but he finished an asterisk mark 9th. In the race, Keselowski started 14th, got the lead following Stage #1 pit stops, led 27 laps but then on lap 54 under caution while leading, he pitted when pit road was closed and it dropped him back into the 30’s, so he had to work hard to earn that 9th. In terms of speed stats, Keselowski ranked 3rd for Speed Late In A Run and 5th for Total Speed Rankings.
Tyler Reddick – Tyler Reddick was likely a top five contender last year at Pocono, but he finished an asterisk mark 32nd. 23XI had brake rotor issues as a company and his misleading result can be traced to that. In the race, Reddick started 8th, finished 3rd in Stage #1 but then in Stage #2 after Herbst and Wallace both had brake rotor issues, the #45 went into conservation mode and then eventually went to the garage, to do preventive maintenance to avoid a similar fate. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Reddick ranked 16th but take note his speed over the segments were 3rd, 28th, 27th and then 5th.
William Byron – William Byron was likely a top five contender last year at Pocono, but he finished a misleading 27th. In the race, Byron started in the back, finished 9th in Stage #1, finished 4th in Stage #2 but then in the final Stage during the Stage #2 caution, he pitted twice as a fuel pit strategy play which dropped him to the back, and he simply never bounced back. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Byron ranked 15th with his speed over the segments being 14th, 5th, 12th and then 29th.
Carson Hocevar – Carson Hocevar finished 18th last year at Pocono which isn’t really a misleading result, but it certainly doesn’t do him justice. In the race, Hocevar earned the 8th best Driver Rating, had a 10.2 average running position and had the 6th best Total Speed Ranking. To further look into his speed over the segments, Hocevar ranked 4th, 1st, 10th and then 23rd, so he simply wasn’t at his best when it counted.
