Pocono Group 1 NASCAR Driver Practice Notes
Christopher Bell – Christopher Bell said he felt pretty confident he’ll be able to make it thru the race in a pre-practice interview. He was much more concerned about the road courses coming up. In Group 1, Bell had the 8th best 5-lap average. Xfinity series driver, Brandon Jones is on standby if needed for him tomorrow. Bell logged 20-laps in practice.
Tyler Reddick – Tyler Reddick had the best overall speed in group 1 and looked great throughout a run. In Group 1, Reddick had the best 5-lap average and the best 10-lap average. Reddick logged many fastest laps in Group 1. In Group 1 during an extended run, he ranked #1 for laps 7,9,10,11,12 and 13. Reddick said his car was really stout, and he thought his team could make his car even better.
Brad Keselowski – Brad Keselowski had the 5th best 5-lap average in Group 1. Keselowski said he felt better about his car during his 2nd run after adjustments. During his qualifying lap, Keselowski had some sort of engine issue and as a result, he’ll be starting in the back.
Zane Smith – The #38 team has shown up with speed once again. In Group 1, Smith had the 2nd best 5-lap average.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – 10-minutes into Group 1, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. spun out. He didn’t hit anything. At the time of his spin, he had the 4th best 5-lap average. His 5-lap average at the end of Group #1 ranked 7th.
