Richmond Cook Out 400 NASCAR Practice Notes

Richmond Group 1 Driver Practice Notes

Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson looked good and in Group 1 he was tied for the best 10-lap average, had the best 15-lap average and had the 2nd best 20-lap average.

Tyler Reddick – With about a minute left in practice, Tyler Reddick spun and didn’t hit anything. In group 1, Reddick had the 5th best 15-lap average. He never made a 20-lap run.

Austin Cindric – Austin Cindric had solid speed and in Group 1 he was tied for the best 10-lap average, had the 2nd best 15-lap average and had the best 20-lap average.

Alex Bowman – Alex Bowman was one of the better drivers in Group 1 and ranked 4th for 10-lap averages, 3rd for 15-lap averages and then 4th for 20-lap averages.

Erik Jones – Erik Jones had the best overall speed in Group 1. He ranked 5th for 20-lap averages. Jones wanted more rear grip and to be better over a long run. His team is trying a new approach this weekend since Richmond hasn’t been a good track for him. Jones said his long run pace was OK.

Cody Ware – 10 minutes into practice, Cody Ware spun which brought out the caution. He didn’t hit anything. He said he broke his transaxle. He was the only driver who didn’t do a 10-lap run in practice.
