Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Bristol #1 2026

Christopher Bell – Christopher Bell had a rocket this spring at Bristol and was poised to likely be a contender to win but finished an asterisk mark 27th. In the race, Bell started 14th, drove up to finish 2nd in Stage #1 but then during the Stage #1 caution, he was caught speeding on pit road. That dropped Bell deep in the pack and then on lap 143 while running in 26th, he got loose, into the wall and then spun, damaging the #20. Over the first quarter of the race prior to his crash, Bell ranked as having the 2nd fastest car on the track.

William Byron – William Byron finished 30th this spring at Bristol, which is and isn’t an asterisk mark result. Byron was every bit that bad, but I also think the #24 was never right. In the race, Byron started in the rear of the field due to changing his steering rack and the #24 was just absolute junk, with Byron getting lapped multiple times under green. Additionally, Byron had a 33.0 average running position and ranked 29th for Total Speed Rankings.

Josh Berry – This spring, Josh Berry looked pretty good for much of the race but finished an asterisk mark 32nd. In the race, Berry started 25th, used pit strategy during an early caution which got him to the front, finished 5th in Stage #1, finished 6th in Stage #2, had a 14.7 average running position but then on lap 393 while running in the teen’s, he got into the wall hard which doomed him to his poor result.

Alex Bowman – This spring at Bristol, Alex Bowman had his return race following his vertigo sidelining and finished last (37th). In the race, Bowman never ran well and was caught up in a crash on lap 159 while running in the high 20’s which ended his afternoon. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Bowman ranked 35th.
